What I Want You to Know About Anxiety
One of the things I hear most often from people is, "I just want this anxiety to go away."
I completely understand that feeling. Anxiety can be exhausting, and it's natural to want to make it stop.
But here's something that might surprise you: anxiety isn't actually the enemy. It's your brain's way of trying to protect you. It's constantly scanning for danger, trying to keep you safe. The challenge is that sometimes your brain starts sounding the alarm even when you're not in real danger.
So instead of trying to fight your anxiety or push it away, what if the goal was different? What if the goal was to help your brain and nervous system recognize that, in this moment, you're actually safe?
That shift—from battling anxiety to understanding it—can make a big difference in how you experience it.
