Somatic Experiencing® (SE) Practitioner Training
Session Provider
Session Provider Status:
Beginning level.
I am an approved session provider for students currently completing their 3-year training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) - at the Beginning level.
Fees:
Regular: $135.00
For students on scholarship approved by SEI, and those who identify as part of the global majority: $100.00
The term “global majority” refers to people of African, Asian, Indigenous, Latin American, and mixed-heritage backgrounds, who together make up roughly 80–85% of the world’s population. Coined by educator Rosemary Campbell-Stephens, it offers an empowering alternative to labels such as “ethnic minority” or “person of colour.” The concept shifts the focus away from Eurocentric perspectives by emphasizing the numerical and cultural strength of non-white communities, while also recognizing shared histories of colonialism and experiences of racism.
Once you complete your training: $170.00
Sessions are 60 minutes in length.

Purposes of Personal Sessions
In Somatic Experiencing® (SE) practitioner training, personal sessions are a core component of the learning experience. They allow students to experience the SE approach directly, deepen somatic awareness, strengthen self-regulation skills, and embody the work's principles. This lived, experiential foundation complements theoretical study and supports practitioners in effectively working with trauma. Personal sessions also offer a safe, supported space for students to explore their own stress responses, learn the language of the nervous system, and build the internal capacity required to guide others.
Key Purposes of Personal Sessions
Experiential Learning: Engaging with SE firsthand fosters embodied understanding, moving learning beyond intellectual knowledge to practical, felt experience.
Nervous System Regulation: Developing self-regulation skills and expanding one’s window of tolerance is essential for holding space for clients.
Deepening Embodiment: Increased attunement to bodily sensations (interoception) helps practitioners recognize how trauma and stress are held in the body.
Integrating SE Principles: Applying SE concepts personally—such as tracking sensation and pendulation—supports meaningful integration into daily life and clinical practice.
Building Confidence: Experiencing skilled, safe guidance through challenging material builds trust in one’s ability to work with complex trauma.
Resource Development: Identifying and strengthening internal resources enhances resilience, stability, and vitality.
Overall, personal sessions support practitioners in becoming embodied examples of the healing process they facilitate, making SE training deeply transformative on both personal and professional levels.
Please note that you are responsible for tracking the hours required for personal sessions to obtain your SEP Certificate.
